Ingredients for preparing Cauliflower Tomato Curry

  • chopped cauliflower - 250 grams
  • ingredients_ - 1
  • Chopped green chillies (kata hari mirch) - 2
  • Mustard Oil (sarson ka tel) - 3 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds (sarson) - 1 tsp
  • Tamarind (imli) - 4
  • ingredients_ - 2 tbsp
  • Salt (namak) - as required
  • Fennel Seeds (saunf) - 0.5 tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder (laal mirch powder) - 0.5 tsp
  • Tomato Puree (tamaatar ka bharta) - 250 grams
  • Chopped ginger (kata adrak) - 1
  • Chopped garlic (kata lahsun) - 2 clove
  • Turmeric powder (Haldi powder) - 0.25 tsp
  • Curry Leaves (kadi patta) - 5
  • Water (paani) - 125 ml
  • Chopped coriander leaves (kata hara dhaniya) - 1 sprig

  • Cumin Seeds (jeera) - 0.5 tsp

Steps to prepare Cauliflower Tomato Curry

  1. Dry roast the coriander seeds, fennel seeds, red chilli and cumin seeds for 30 seconds. Grind them to a fine powder.
  2. Keep aside until required.
  3. Grind the half of the onions, ginger, 1/2 green chilli and garlic to a fine paste.
  4. Heat oil in a large pan.
  5. Add the remaining onions, ground onion paste and stir well.
  6. Saute for 5 to 8 minutes or until golden.
  7. Add the ground masala powder, turmeric powder, mustard seeds and curry leaves. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  8. Add the tomato puree, tamarind extract, water and coconut. Bring to a boil.
  9. Add the chopped cauliflower and reduce flame to low. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  10. When the cauliflower is cooked and tender, remove from flame.
  11. Garnish with coriander leaves.
