Ingredients for preparing Black Millet Khichdi (Bajra)

  • BlackMillet (Soaked for 8 hours and drained) - 0.5 cup
  • Yellow Moong Dal (Washed and Drained) (Moong dal) - 0.5 cup
  • Salt (namak) - as required
  • ingredients_ - 1 tbsp
  • Cumin Seeds (jeera) - 1 tbsp
  • Hing - 0.5 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder (Haldi powder) - 0.25 tbsp

Steps to prepare Black Millet Khichdi (Bajra)

  1. Pressure cook the bajra, moong dal, salt and 2 cups of water for 4 whistles.
  2. Add cumin seeds to hot ghee in a deep non-stick pan.
  3. After that add hing and turmeric and mix well.
  4. Add the cooked bajra-moong dal mixture and little salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve hot with pickle or papad.
